5K monitors · 27-inch

Best 5K monitors for Mac.

5K (5120×2880) is the Mac sweet spot. 218 pixels per inch on a 27 inch panel is exactly the density macOS was designed for: text is sharper, everything renders the way Apple intended, and UI scaling is effortless. Every 5K monitor below hits that Retina density. Where they differ is build quality, connectivity, colour and price.

Both panels at their real size on the same desk. macOS renders each at exactly 2×, so they look equally sharp. The difference is how much fits on screen.

2560×1440 @2x

macOS treats 5K as 2560×1440 at 2x. That is pixel-perfect scaling with no blur and no interpolation, exactly like a MacBook or iMac display.
