RetinaDesk is a small independent review site. This page explains what data is collected when you visit and what is not collected. And also who it is shared with. This policy was last updated in August 2026.

What we collect

RetinaDesk does not require any registration. It also does not accept comments and does not collect personal information directly. Beyond the analytics described below, the only data is collected from technical access logs that are standard for any websites.

• We may track IP address and used it for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We discarded it after 30 days
• We may collect User-agent string to understand which browsers and devices are used
• The referrer URL that sent you to this site.
• The requested URL and HTTP status code

Cookies

RetinaDesk uses local storage in your browser to remember your light/dark theme preference. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies as described below. There are no advertising cookies and no fingerprinting scripts on this site.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and which recommendations they find useful. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) that hold a randomly generated identifier so repeat visits from the same browser can be counted once rather than twice. That identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account, and RetinaDesk never uploads personal information to Google.

Google Signals and ads personalization are switched off for this property, so your activity here is not combined with your activity on other sites and is not used to target advertising. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Reporting is restricted to pages viewed, approximate country or region, device type, referrer, and clicks on the "Check price on Amazon" buttons.

You can opt out entirely with Google's browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking analytics scripts in your browser or an extension. Nothing on this site breaks if you do.

Affiliate links and Amazon

If you click an Amazon affiliate link on this site then Amazon may set cookies and track your session under their own privacy policy. We might receive commissions on qualifying purchases but do not receive personal information about you. See our full affiliate disclosure.

Third-party services

• This site is hosted on Cloudflare which does network level logging for security and performance.
• Google Analytics measures site traffic. See Google's privacy policy and their notes on how data is used by sites that use their services.
• All the outgoing affiliate links take you to Amazon which runs its own tracking under its own policy.

Your rights

If you are based in the EU, UK, or California then you have the right to request information about any personal data held about you and to request its deletion. This website collects no directly identifying information, so in practice there is rarely anything to return beyond the pseudonymous analytics identifier described above. Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes then the update date at the top of the page will be revised. Material changes will be noted in the site footer for 30+ days.
