In line with FTC guidelines and the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement, this page explains how RetinaDesk makes money, what relationships we have with manufacturers, and what we will and will not do.

Amazon Associates

RetinaDesk is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Links marked with a shopping-cart icon, usually labelled "Check price on Amazon", are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something on Amazon, we may receive a small commission, typically 1 to 3% on monitors. It never changes the price you pay.

What we commit to

• Every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored nofollow", as Google's guidelines require.
• We never accept payment for a ranking, and we ignore requests for a positive review or specific wording.
• Affiliate relationships are disclosed in the footer of every page and next to every buy button.
• Rankings are editorial judgement, never based on commission rates.
• If a manufacturer ever lends or sends us a unit, the review will say so at the top.

How our reviews are made

Our reviews are research-based. We do not run a test lab and we do not currently keep review units. Each review combines the manufacturer's full specifications, instrumented measurements from named independent labs (each linked to its source), Apple's own per-Mac display documentation, and owner reports. Each review states this at the top. The full process is on our methodology page.

What we don't do

• Accept sponsored reviews or any kind of paid placement
• Change rankings based on affiliate commission rates
• Present research as hands-on testing
• Publish lab figures without naming and linking the lab that measured them

Discontinued products

A manufacturer can discontinue a product after we review it. When that happens we keep the review online for reference, mark it as discontinued, remove its buy buttons and drop it from rankings where buying is the goal. The Apple Pro Display XDR, discontinued by Apple in March 2026, is one example.
