Kuycon G32P / G32X vs LG UltraFine evo 6K

The short answer

Both use LG Nano IPS Black-class 6K panels rated at 2,000:1 contrast. The LG UltraFine evo 32U990A is the more complete monitor: Thunderbolt 5 with daisy-chain, a KVM, speakers and independent lab data. The Kuycon G32P wins only on its glossy laminated glass and Pro Display XDR-style looks, and it has a one-year warranty and no dock.

Kuycon G32P / G32X

$1,699

Nothing else on sale looks this much like a Pro Display XDR. Real glass, 223 PPI and a rated 2,000:1 on the glossy G32P for about $1,699, or 218 PPI matte on the G32X for $1,399. Lovely panels, but no dock, no speakers, no KVM, a twelve-month warranty, and no independent lab has measured either one yet.

Our pick

LG UltraFine evo 6K

$1,999

The first 6K monitor with Thunderbolt 5, and LG's return to the Mac market. A Nano IPS Black panel, 98% DCI-P3 and 99.5% Adobe RGB, and an 80 Gb/s single-cable connection that can daisy-chain a second 6K. At $1,999 it is a hard sell over the ASUS PA32QCV; on sale near $1,299 it is the most future-proof 6K you can buy.

Similar panels, very different monitors

Under the glass, these two share a lot: 6144 × 3456 resolution, roughly 223 to 224 PPI and LG Nano IPS Black-class contrast rated at 2,000:1. macOS renders both at a clean 2×. The differences are the surface, the ports and the paperwork.

Surface and looks

The Kuycon G32P puts fully laminated anti-reflective glass over the panel. It looks like a glossy Apple display and closely resembles the discontinued Pro Display XDR, especially with the honeycomb stand in Amazon bundles. The LG UltraFine evo uses a light semi-gloss anti-glare finish that is more forgiving in bright rooms.

Connectivity

The LG has two Thunderbolt 5 ports with 96W charging, so a Thunderbolt 5 Mac can daisy-chain a second 6K display. It adds an auto-KVM, DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 inputs, 5W stereo speakers and LG’s Mac app for keyboard brightness and volume control. The Kuycon has one USB-C input at 100W, two USB 2.0-speed USB-C outputs, DisplayPort 2.1 and two HDMI 2.1 inputs. It has no speakers, no KVM and no daisy-chain.

Trust

Independent labs have measured the LG; nobody has published measurements of the Kuycon yet. The Kuycon’s warranty is one year. Owners have reported needing an OSD change to unlock full 6K.

Which to buy

Buy the LG for a complete, documented 6K setup, especially on a Thunderbolt 5 Mac. Its one real weakness is a stand with just 60 mm of height travel. Buy the Kuycon if glossy glass is the point and you already have a dock.
