Two 32-inch 6K monitors, $1,100 apart
Both of these deliver Retina-density 6K on a 32-inch screen, both connect over Thunderbolt 4 with daisy-chain and a KVM, and both are factory calibrated with excellent colour. The question is whether the Dell’s extra hardware is worth almost doubling the price.
What the Dell adds
The Dell UltraSharp U3224KB is built as an all-in-one office display. It has a 4K IR webcam that works as a standard UVC camera on macOS, beamforming microphones, and 14W-per-channel speakers. Its Thunderbolt 4 port charges at 140W, enough to keep a 16-inch Max MacBook Pro full under load. Its hub adds 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, four USB-A and two USB-C ports. Its IPS Black panel is rated at 2,000:1, double typical IPS, though labs measured it lower. Dell also offers next-business-day on-site warranty service.
What the ASUS does just as well for less
The ASUS ProArt PA32QCV covers 98% DCI-P3 with Calman Verified factory calibration, DisplayHDR 600 and a Mac mode preset matched to macOS rendering. Its two Thunderbolt 4 ports give 96W charging and daisy-chain, and HDMI and DisplayPort inputs with a KVM handle a second computer. Its stand adjusts for height, tilt, swivel and pivot, and it is much lighter at 9.3 kg against the Dell’s 13.3 kg.
Which to buy
